“Don’t eat anything your great-great-great grandmother wouldn’t recognize as food.” This is one of Michael Pollan’s most famous rules for eating wisely. A sustainable food culture begins with just the basic tweaks in every home, simply by focusing on local, traditional and seasonal foods. This season, some of Tasting India Symposium – Farm to Table’s key aims include to showcase India’s ‘lost foods’ and promote sustainable diet options the country can offer to the world.
The Symposium finale brings us one-step closer to achieving these goals. Tasting India Symposium and Slurrp Farm, in collaboration with MyCity4Kids is organizing the coolest cooking contest in the city.
10 teams of Little Chefs and their Grandmothers will be selected to cook and decorate pancakes and dosas using Slurrp Farm’s Millet Pancake and Dosa Mixes – They all must bring and use a secret ingredient which has been passed down through the generations in their family, for their special recipes. The contest will be judged by renowned food journalist, Mr. Sourish Bhattacharyya and a celebrity Chef (TBD) and the winner will receive a Mega-Prize by Slurrp Farm. We will also conduct a fun food-quiz for all the attendees – guess the ingredient, taste-test, etc., the winners of which will also get hampers from Slurrp Farm.
The entire event will be a part of a larger Sunday Brunch held at CLUB5, DLF CITY5, Gurgaon. There will also be a live pancake and dosa counter where they will make pancakes, waffles, dosas, idlis and utthapams using Slurrp Farm Millet Pancake & Dosa Mixes. MyCity4Kids will also be promoting this event via an interactive Facebook contest from 14th – 17th December 2017. They will also list the details in their events section online.
